Upcoming Prescribed Burns (week starting Monday 7 October, 2024)

The Department fo Biodiversity, Conversation & Attractions (DBCA) Parks & Wildlife service will be conducting prescribed burns in the following locations during the week starting Monday 7 October, 2024.

 

Roseneath/Sherwood Block - Managed by DBCA (Wellington District)

This prescribed burn area is approximately 820 hectares in size, and is located east of the Collie Preston Road (opposite Glen Mervyn Dam). The burn is expected to take place over several days, however please note that these times may vary and are dependent on weather conditions. Traffic management will be in place (single lane closure) on the Collie Preston Road.

 

Warner Block - Managed by DBCA (Blackwood District)

This prescribed burn area is approximately 390 hectares in size, and is located immediately east of the Kirup townsite. The burn is expected to take place over several days, however please note that these times may vary and are dependent on weather conditions. Traffic management will be in place in the area (key impacted roads are Brookhampton Road, Kirup-Grimwade Road, Wishart Road).

Following the conclusion of these burns, emergency services will be in the area and conducting patrols over the coming weeks.
