Cat Registration Information

This information applies to all cat registrations, whether you have a new kitten or are transferring the cat from a different local government or owner.

Before registering your cat, please take some time to review the following to ensure that you have everything you need – without the following, we will not be able to process your registration:

  • All cats over the age of six (6) months must be registered and Registrations are renewed from 1 November annually, with registration period available for one (1) year, three (3) years, or the lifetime of the cat.
  • Microchip documentation is mandatory – without it, we cannot process your registration.
  • Proof of Sterilisation is mandatory – without it, we cannot process your registration correctly.
  • If you would like to register your cat with concession, a valid Pensioner Concession Card must be shown when making your submission.
  • All areas of the Cat Registration Form must be completed, which includes providing an Emergency Contact.
  • If there are any changes to particular details contained in your cat registration (including sale of the animal, change of ownership, or death) you must inform the Shire Administration Office within 7 days so that your file can be updated.

Please note that an impounded cat that has not been registered as required will not be released until a registration is complete. If you would like to discuss further, please contact the Shire and ask to speak with our friendly Rangers.
