Information on accommodation options for the elderly.
As the Shire's demographic consists of a much higher than average median age (47 years, compared to the WA average of 36 years), housing options for our elderly residents is of high importance. These locations, the Minninup Cottages, Langley Villas, and Preston Village, are essential for our older community members and assist in providing facilities catered for aged social housing. They provide independent living facilities for tenants aged 55 and over, allowing for individuals and couples to maintain their lifestyles and access local networks of health care practices and social groups for support. This enables individuals to maintain their independence and continued stature within the community as well.
