The Shire of Donnybrook Balingup is inviting comments from the public about the following proposed speed zoning changes in the localities of Irishtown and Donnybrook.
In recent years, community members have advocated for a reduction of speed on Irishtown Road and the streets surrounding the Apple Fun Park in Donnybrook. At the Ordinary Council Meeting held on Wednesday 26 February 2025, Council resolved to support this initiative and proceed with community consultation, per these recommendations from Main Roads WA (MRWA). The feedback received will assist the Shire to best reflect the sentiments of the community.
- Establishment of an Urban Area Speed Zone for the Irishtown Locality, resulting in a 60km/h speed limit for all roads once implemented.
- In Donnybrook, change in speed limit from 50km/h to 40km/h for Reserve Street between Collins Street and South Western Highway, as well as for Collins Street, from its intersection with Reserve Street to the point approximately 350 metres south.
Maps of the particular roads affected by these proposals and the full report from the abovementioned Ordinary Council Meeting are available on the pages linked below.
