New Bin Collection Day for main street of Donnybrook townsite (South Western Highway)

The Shire’s new Disability Access & Inclusion Plan (DAIP) was released in May this year, and since its adoption we have been pursuing the agreed strategies. A particular area raised in the DAIP was finding a way to reduce congestion in the centre of the Donnybrook townsite to allow room for wheelchairs, gophers, and prams. One of the contributors to this problem is rubbish bins left out over the weekend for collection on Mondays, as this is our routine bin collection day for all townsites across the whole Shire.

The bin collection day has been changed to Tuesday for a particular area along the South Western Highway, specifically between the northern entry to Donnybrook (crossing over Noneycup Creek) and Dale Street.

The new bin collection day will be in effect from Tuesday 1 October 2024 - from this date, you will start to see a less cluttered street on the weekends!

Please note that this change only affects the properties in the specified area on the South Western Highway - notifications have been sent to those impacted via mail. Weekly bin collections will still done on Monday for all other localities. For any enquiries regarding this change, please contact the Shire Administration Office during open hours.
