Do you know someone who makes a significant impact on the community? Now is the time to recognise them!
Auspire - Australia Day Council WA is the organisation responsible for running the Community Citizen of the Year Awards, and are an opportunity for you to acknowledge those making an outstanding contribution to your local community.
Anyone wishing to nominate can do by completing the nomination form on the Citizenship Awards website linked below. You are also encouraged to look at the selection and eligibility criteria (also available online) and try to address them when completing the form. The more detailed information is provided, the better. This will help the councils and their selection panels have as much information as possible when deliberating their decisions.
The information provided may include specific examples of volunteer work – including establishing or running community initiatives – charity fundraising, advocacy efforts, or other ways in which the nominee has positively impacted the community. Be sure to highlight any unique or innovative approaches they have taken to address community needs or challenges. You may also include attachments or links to support your nomination.
If you would like to recognise someone for their efforts in areas such as education, health, fund-raising, charitable or voluntary services, business, sport, arts, the environment, social inclusion or any area that enhances community well-being, you can nominate them in any of the four categories:
- Community Citizen of the Year
- Young Community Citizen of the Year
- Senior Community Citizen of the Year
- Active Citizenship (Group or Event)
Nominations are open from 1 September to 31 October, 2024.
